In 2012, James Hyland was invited to Buckingham Palace by Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, in recognition of Dickensian scholarship, as part of the 200th birthday celebrations for Charles Dickens and in respect to James's highly acclaimed and award-winning one-man show productions of 'A Christmas Carol - As told by Jacob Marley (deceased)' and 'Fagin's Last Hour'. At the ceremony, James met Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
